Inclusive Education Methodologies

Program Overview:
This program deals with the place, value and function, design and implementation of inclusive education to benefit all learners. It also provides skills in the development of an Individual Education Support Plan (IESP). It provides a mixture of practical ideas on how to adapt learning programs, their design, methods of support, back-to-basic teaching skills, and evaluating the impact of teaching on the learner. The very latest inclusive education methods have been incorporated in this course. It helps in overcoming barriers to learning by looking at learners specific needs and wants.
Program Objectives:
By the end of this program, you will gain an understanding of the following:
- The conceptual principles of inclusive education, and its application to the teaching context.
- Identification of barriers to learning and development in the classroom and at home.
- Effective strategies for inclusive education in the regular classroom.
- Curriculum modifications for the diverse learner including 9 types of adaptations.
- Assessment, recording and reporting.
- The development of an IESP.
- The provision of a toolkit including videos, exemplars and templates.
Methodology:
- The training and development sessions will be done through practical workshops.
- Learners will receive a Learner Pack, Portfolio and CD with exemplars and videos.
- Continuing email and telephonic support is provided at no additional cost. On-site visits will also be conducted.
- All training will be conducted in English by our trained facilitators who have a proficiency in the language and the subject matter.
Assessment:
- The 5-day training will lead to the completion of a portfolio for assessment and submitted for international accreditation by the ETDP SETA.
